Unicef UK Rights Respecting School Class Charter

We are becoming a Unicef UK Rights Respecting School.

UNCRC stands for the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

It is a list of rights that all children, everywhere in the world, have.

The rights are a list of all the things that children need to make sure they are happy, healthy and safe.

Each class has agreed on a set of rights that they are going to work on, this is called their Class Charter They have discussed how the staff and other children can help them to achieve these rights, but also that they have a responsibility to respect other rights.

The rights Year 6 have chosen to focus on are:

Article 19 - They should not be harmed and should be looked after and kept safe.

Article 28 – Their right to learn and go to school.

Article 29 - Their right to be the best they can be.

Article 33 – Their right to be protected from dangerous drugs.
