Attendance
ATTENDANCE
Congratulations to all children who are achieving 100% attendance in the Autumn Term 2024. Regular attendance is crucial for a successful and rewarding school experience. Each term, all children with 100% attendance will receive a certificate awarded in assembly.
If your child will be absent from school, please report their absence by contacting us at 0161 740 7094 . If we do not hear from you before 9.30 am, we will ring you to check on the safety and wellbeing of your child.
Absences may be authorised for illnesses, medical appointments, religious observances, and exceptional circumstances such as bereavement.
Holidays will not be authorised during term time. If your child is absent for 5 days within a half-term, you may incur a fixed penalty fine from Manchester City Council.
If your child has less than 90% attendance, the equivalent of missing 19 school days in a year, the matter will be logged as Persistent Absence. Parents may be fined by the council and taken to court if there is no improvement.
Punctuality is important for a successful and rewarding school experience. Parents are expected to ensure their children have arrived in school before 8.45am when the register is taken in class. Any child later than 8.45am will be classed as late and the parent will have to log their child into school using our 'E-Reception' electronic checking in system.
Children's attendance and punctuality is monitored by Mrs Pearson, Mrs Corcoran and Mrs Webster regularly. Parents of children with poor attendance or poor punctuality will be written to and/ or be invited in to school for a meeting to discuss how we can support you in improving your child's attendance or punctuality.
